This incredible background isn't in fact a bookcase... it's a trompe l'oeil...! What a project! It's yet another spectacular scene in the library at the Hotel Du Vin in Cambridge. Taking over 3 months to paint there are some wonderful humorous touches. One book "I can't believe we got there" is written by Denis Frucot, who is in fact the General Manager at the hotel! Painted by Gary Myatt, http://www.garymyatt.com/famurals.html who paints himself into the murals and sits alongside the girls on the reception desk after what appears to be a great night out!
