FAB-U-LUS Darling!

As spoken by the infamous Mr Nasty of the Strictly Dancing world, Craig Revel Horwood. That's after a good performance and we had a few of those this evening. Where was I? At the LG arena, NEC with Lisa to watch the live performance.
We'd spent the day in B'rum, well strictly speaking in Selfridges, where we had lunch and a wander. They have the most amazing food hall so we chose to have a bit to eat perched on a stool in the noodle bar. I have to admit, they do a mean crispy duck salad, yum! Then there was just time to have a bit of a gander around the store before we picked up a couple of crispy cremes for the interval and headed off to Knowle. Loch Fyne is one of my all time favourite restaurants and I was certainly not disappointed. It's one of the nicest I've been to. The sea bass and king prawns on a bed of celeriac remolade were delicious washed down with a glass of prosecco.
Tummy happy, we drove the short journey to the NEC, parked and headed for the LG arena. The set was breathtaking, the dancing spectacular and all in all, it was a great fun nite. Kate Thornton did a brilliant job of presenting the show and it was great to see Arlene back as one of the judges. Bruno Tonioli joined Arlene and Craig to dish out compliments, witty lines and cutting knock backs to the celebrity dancers.
Ali Bastian and Brian Fortuna were fabulous to watch and Zoe Lucker proved that she went out far too early in the tv show. Winner of the current series, Chris Hollins was as entertaining as ever, though quite clearly not the best dancer. That honor went to Austin Healy who definitely has all the moves and buckets full of charm and carisma to go with it! Austin & Lilia had a brilliant 2nd dance which was for me, the best of the evening.
The judges disagreed, as did the audience, putting Mark RampraKash top of the leader board for this evening. It was a fantastic night though it makes me realise just how much closer you can get to the dancers by watching it on my tv.
Live is great for atmosphere and experience but you can't beat tv for seeing the expressions on their faces and the amazing detail that comes with great footwork! I'll just say that there were some world class performances tonight and roll on the next series!
